Assemblage, altered books & collage using upcycled materials.
Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm, Sundays 11am-5pm
408 Depot Street
Sandra works in mixed media including altered books, assemblage and collage. Assemblage pieces are created from elements found in yard sales, recycling bins, and nature, which are then transformed. She explores the beauty found by taking otherwise ordinary items, making them into something different and nicer, while keeping the “memory” of the originals.
Juried exhibitions include: Madonna University, Forum Gallery at Cranbrook, Grosse Pointe Art Center, Oakland Community College, Riverside Arts Center and Detroit Artist Market.
Sandra studied fine arts at Michigan State University. Additional studies have included design, calligraphy, and book arts with well-known artists such as Lothar Hoffman, Susan Skarsgard and Jonathan Talbot. She is a member of the Women’s Caucus for Art and the Ann Arbor Women Artists.
