I create stories using simple materials and techniques such as stitching, paper mache, paint, found objects, and cold connections. I often employ humor and a child-like sensibility as a way to engage the viewer, with more sensitive or sophisticated content beneath the surface. Without sacrificing craftsmanship, the hand of the maker is always apparent and visible conveying my interest and appreciation of the rough, unpolished moments in our existence.

I would characterize my paintings as atmospheric, transitional landscapes. Local scenes are at the heart of much of my work, as I am very much inspired by the beauty of this region and influenced by our four distinct seasons. There is a certain amount of structure in and
behind my paintings, which is built up in many layers. This loose, grid-like structure represents to me, how in nature everything is connected. The multiple layers of paint create an impression of a scene and change, depending upon your perspective, up close or from a distance.
