1. Studio Stroll Dates
The Studio Stroll in the River Arts District is just around the corner...November 10-11 from 10am to 6pm each day. Mark your calendars now and visit www.riverdistrictartists.com for the latest info. More than 80 members of the River District Artists are participating in this fall's Studio Stroll!

2. River District Artists Member News
• Captivated by the scenery found in the mountains of North Carolina, nationally known abstract artist, Jonas Gerard, has created a new body of work featuring vibrant abstracted landscapes. On Friday, October 5, 2007 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm he will reveal his exhibition "Landscape Energy" at Jonas Gerard Fine Art in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC.
• Maria Andrade Troya and Pattiy Torno (Curve Studios) will be showing at the Norcross Art Fest in Atlanta, GA on October 6 & 7... www.norcrossartfest.com
• October Open Studios in the River Arts District:
Curve Studios Open House Friday, Oct. 12, 10am - 5pm, Ceramic Studios of Maria Andrade Troya, Scot Cameron-Bell & Meagan Chaney, Glass by Rick Melby, Textiles by Pattiy Torno & Steel by Kelly Prestwood & David Tomlinson.
Warehouse Studios, Open Studios Friday, Oct 19, 10am - 5pm. Featuring mixed media, landscape, figurative, abstract expressionist painting and landscape photography. 170 Lyman Street
Artists of Cotton Mill Studios will be opening their studios on Friday, October 26, from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM The featured artists will be presenting works in pottery, glass and jewelry. They also will be showing oil paintings including landscapes, abstracts, narratives and eclectics.

• The Fine Arts League of the Carolinas has moved from their former home in downtown Asheville to 362 Depot Street in the River Arts District. Visit www.fineartsleague.org for more information about their classes and exhibits.
• RDA photo artist Laurie McCarriar has moved her studio to Warehouse Studios and is open on Fridays from 10-4.
Laurie will be hosting a Drawing & Watercolor Workshop with singer-songwriter and artist Suzanne McDermott on Saturday, October 20 from 9am - 2pm.
Learn fundamentals of drawing and watercolor while exploring shapes, patterns, textures and colors in the natural world. Visit www.gingerprint.com for more details. Pre-register by October 8 for a free gift!

• RiverLink has acquired the former B&H Sheet Metal Buildings (locally known as the “Blue Buildings”), at 115 through 119 Riverside Drive, an important missing link in the development of a greenway along the river between 12 Bones Restaurant and the Smith Bridge (right across from Cotton Mill Studios).
• River's Edge Studios in Riverview Station presents fall art classes in painting and drawing. Visit fletamonaghan.com to register.
