Wendy Whitson in Charleston, SC

Whitsonnewmoonweb The Grand Re-opening of the Wells Gallery, 125 Meeting Street, is now exhibiting the landscapes of Wendy Whitson in historic downtown Charleston and at The Sanctuary, Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Featured artists for the opening are Glenn and Evan Harrington, father and son. Other artists include Karen Larson Turner, Randall McKissick, James Pratt, and David Ballew, to name but a few.

Wendy's landscapes are beautiful impressions and fleeting visions of the North and South Carolina countryside. Now residing in Asheville, but originally from low country North Carolina, Whitson worked in graphic design and photography before devoting her energies to painting.

The Wells Gallery is part of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers Association, and participates in monthly Art Walks in downtown Charleston.

Art Wrangler or Cat Herder?

Dawn_opt

Local artist and businesswoman helps artists promote themselves
“I know so many talented people who just don’t have the administrative skills needed to prosper as an artist” said Dawn Dalto, founder of Artist Wrangler, a business devoted to helping artists do what they do best...create. Artists are too busy to stop what they’re doing and ask themselves ”How do I market myself?
This is where Artist Wrangler comes in, according to Dalto. Freed of administrative concerns and the pesky details about how to make a living selling their work artists have more time to create.
