Insurgents

Flood Gallery Fine Art Center proudly presents Insurgents, curated by its recently hired Assistant Director, Reneé M. Cagnina. This exhibition subversively addresses the internal battles that plague the psyches of its participating artists and exemplifies a unique ability to diplomatically address politics through vibrant illustrations. Insurgents will run April 5th through May 11th, 2008

The Flood Gallery is located in the Phil Mechanic Studios Building at 109 Roberts Street in the River Arts District.

Christine Dougherty at the Clingman Cafe

Christine Dougherty is currently showing work at the Clingman Cafe in the River Arts District. She is a painter in the historic Cotton Mill Studios. Her work includes a vibrant array of landscapes, bugs, and old cars. The show will be up through the end of March, so stop by and check out her newest pastel, 'Widow Creek Falls', while having a steaming hot latte. Skip Rohde in Knoxville, TN

Skip Rohde (Cotton Mill Studios) is exhibiting his paintings from the "Old Times" series at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.  These paintings examine the subject of aging. They are sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, but always thought provoking. The show will run through May 2.

Kyle Carpenter in Atlanta

The MudFire Gallery, in Atlanta, welcomes back Kyle Carpenter of Asheville, North Carolina for his annual solo exhibition of new functional pottery, this year entitled "The Pot Adorned." In this year's show, Kyle unveils a stunning new direction in his brushwork, with detailed illustrations that complement his elegant mark makings. The artist reception and exhibit opening was held Saturday, March 1, from 5-9 pm. The exhibit and sale will be on display through March 29, 2008. www.mudfire.com
