Studio Stroll a Great Success

72dpibeststrollingcouple      June 10 & 11 saw the RIVER ARTS DISTRICT of Asheville, NC flooded again, but with people not water this time.   The River District Artists, who host the STUDIO STROLL now boast a membership of 65 artists who have studios in the River Arts District.  Every year it is more of a challenge to see it all.  RDA wishes to thank all of our neighbors who do not participate in the STUDIO STROLL, but who are more than generous with their parking lots (yes, i am talking about you,  AVL Technologies) and dealing with the crowds who show up on their doorsteps.
Twelve Bones, our wonderful BBQ joint was open for the first time ever on saturday for the studio stroll.  Our ever faithful, Clingman Avenue Coffee & Catering took care of the hoards with iced coffees on both days.  Many thanks to all who made this wonderful celebration of the ARTS happen right here in Asheville, North Carolina.

TIME FOR STROLLIN’

It is that time of year when the River Arts District is flooded with visitors (not water, thank you) looking to ogle/purchase work by local artists & artisans.  The RDA Fall Studio Stroll will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 & 13, 2005 from 10am to 6pm both days.
In an effort to help our neighbors who do not benefit from this influx of cars & pedestrians on the streets & sidewalks of our neighborhood, the RDA Studio Stroll Co-ordinator, Meg Westendorff has asked that if anyone has issues that they need addressed prior to the Studio Stroll, that she be given a call at 225-6533 or an e-mail at megwestendorff@yahoo.com. Meg will do whatever is in her power to help.  It is important to RDA that it not impose too harshly on the good will of their neighbors, as River District Artists continue to grow their premier event.
There will be a post Studio Stroll Party at the Grey Eagle for all of the stroll participants, Wednesday, November16th, 2005 at 5:30pm.  Anyone from the neighborhood is welcome to join in.  It would be a good time to chew over what went well and what needs work for next time… And have a beer on RDA.
