Baila el Sol, oilWhen I first watched my brush blend and move color and water across paper I felt: "Oh, that's what I've been missing all my life." Understanding myself as a painter is a new joy. I am on an adventure of time, place and memory. My brush and paint often have a will of their own as I see something and need to respond to it. I struggle to balance the excitement for my subject matter with an accurate composition and rendition. The results are often a surprise.

I was born and raised in Mexico, a country of marked natural beauty and a rich sensory gift to me. I have been fortunate to paint in other states and countries. Western North Carolina is a very special place to be an artist.
