Books and Works on Paper
I have always been drawn to the abstract and the study of line, shape and color. My work is the visual expression of thoughts and feelings that often cannot be put into words. I strive to convey a calming, quiet, and visually meditative experience for the viewer.
As a mixed media artist, working mostly with paper and found objects, I am inspired by the materials I collect and choose to work with. I am interested in the use of repetitive pattern, grids, sewn lines, circles, and exploring the connection between found objects. I am fascinated by process of the underlying construction and discovering new ways to use these materials.
I invite you to look at each piece and explore the movement of the line, the suggestion of the shape, and the mood of the color. There is no specific meaning or symbolism within my art. I am creating an environment and building a story for the viewer to find their own interpretation.
