Dave Watts started metal sculpting in a friend's garage in the early 1980's. A decade later he began to carve wood, and by 2000 he was creating art in the medium of stained glass. Since that time he has honed his craft to meet the needs of the art market. Not only has he taken up fusing glass, and twisting wire, but also he is currently learning how to create mosaic art.

Dave has worked and created art in several states, including California Florida, Ohio and North Carolina. When asked about where he likes to create his art, he admits that being in Asheville, an art city, brings him inspiration, and community with other artists. He enjoys visiting galleries downtown and in the River Arts District, but admires the work of artists in other parts of the country. After all, he says, creativity knows no bounds.
