Mohamed began his art studies as a young man in Alexandria, Egypt under Seif Wanly, who introduced modern art to Egypt. Under family pressure, he interrupted his formal study of fine arts to attend medical school, and practiced as a psychiatrist in the US for nearly 30 years before resuming his life’s mission of painting. His work has been described as emotionally resonant, uniting the truth of a realistic representation with psychological and spiritual intuition. Exquisite sensitivity to color and light and the expressiveness of his brushwork are the foundations of his characteristic style.
