Cloud Painting Techniques w/ Peter Roux

Join Peter Roux for an exploration of techniques to create clouds in your oil paintings.

Peter has over 20 years of teaching experience, from casual to university to professional artists. For this workshop, he will walk through some of the techniques that enable him to explore the depth of cloudscape that he is increasingly known for in his Suspension series. During the 5-hour workshop, with demos and exercises, you will spend time painting a variety of cloud shapes and ultimately move on to develop an 18×24” or 24×24” canvas cloudscape of your own. All materials will be provided and are included in the cost. You are welcome to bring additional tools and materials if you wish. Reference photos will be available, but feel free to bring your own inspiration as well.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start time, so we can begin at 10am sharp. There will be a 45 minute lunch break, which can be a bag lunch or you may choose to visit our neighbor restaurants (there are an excellent bbq joint and a fantastic coffee shop which serves bagels and pastries, just behind the building).
