The Greenway Celebration and The Earth Garden Installation
This April 22nd through May 2021 the much awaited natural Broad River Greenway is welcoming all in its opening of the River Greenway. The River Arts District is offering a number of events and has created a 2-acre site as The Earth Garden. Incorporating the existing meditation labyrinth at 122 Riverside Drive next to the old Cotton Mill site, a project spearheaded by RiverLink in 2010, is a place for ritual, for community, tourists, people of all faiths to use its winding paths for eco-activism, meditation, conflict resolution, healing and celebration. It is called the Earth Garden. At the site will be art/ritual installations, the Labyrinth, a medicine wheel, a site as a hands-on experiential for small earthen altars made from nature’s elements and other materials supplied at the site and Prayer Sticks as playful social distancing movement exercises.
Launch date will be the weekend after Earth Day, on Saturday, April 24. At the entrance to the site will be an art installation sculpture gateway.
