$345 includes waxes and professional pigments, sample panels, and papers, as well as use of all the tools, equipment, and materials you will need to complete a number of small works using a variety of techniques!
Must be aged 18 yrs or older.

Learn about tools and materials, safety, and how to set up your own home studio. We’ll focus on archival methods and the basics of encaustic – including making your own medium, preparing and priming panels, and the proper fusing of layers – and give you lots of time to play and experiment. We’ll cover working additively and subtractively, translucent vs. opaque colors, scraping and incising, image transfers, embedding papers and fibers, use of stencils and masks (including making your own), controlled application of color, collage, pan pastels, oil paints and oil sticks, foils, and various ways of building texture and incorporating 3D objects.

Work small and come away with several pieces of completed work. Excellent course for beginners, and experienced artists can take their work to a new level. Bring a few panels and any items you may wish to collage or embed. Details will be supplied when registering.
