Develop confidence with oil paint and its unique attributes of luminosity, depth of color, and longevity, and delight in oil’s expressive power to build atmospheric landscapes. We’ll cover pigments, mediums, varnish, sizing, and grounds; prepare supports using natural gesso on panel and paper; and discuss best uses of canvas or linen. From sketching with your brush to finished paintings, daily demos will complement studio and outdoor painting. This class is ideal for in-depth exposure to oils, oil mediums and plein air painting.
