SUMMARY:Healing Threads ATELIER with guest artist Elizabeth Garlington
DESCRIPTION:The ATELIER at ArtPlay is a new type of offering designed to support your creative process within a circle of community while receiving guidance and inspiration from an artist. It is neither a traditional class nor an open studio. Instead\, it is a gently guided creative experience. \nThis session is open to those who have previously taken Elizabeth’s Healing Threads workshop\, as well as those who are seeking dedicated exploration time and guidance for their fiber or stitch-based creative projects. \nDuring this three-hour creative immersion\, you’ll enter an extended period of intentional play and experimentation with fiber materials. With Elizabeth as your guide\, you will deepen and expand your creative process while continuing to explore the layering of fabrics with stitching. Along the way\, you may also discover the meditative and calming qualities that often emerge through this type of handwork. \nIn this studio-based Healing Threads Atelier\, participants will receive supportive\, responsive guidance as they continue developing fiber-based works already in progress\, while also being encouraged in the initiation of new pieces. As art is made in community\, each participant contributes an important energy to the Healing Threads Atelier circle. \nParticipants are invited to bring personal works-in-progress\, completed pieces they wish to share with the group\, and any materials that support their individual projects. Elizabeth will also have a selection of fiber-based supplies available in the studio.

SUMMARY:Hot Shop: 30 Minute Make Your Own
DESCRIPTION:Receive a guided experience to create your own glass keepsakes in our glassblowing studio. In this hands-on class\, you will work one-on-one with an experienced instructor to create a unique piece of glass art.\nChoose between crafting a paperweight\, ornament\, pumpkin\, or cup\, then customize your piece with your choice of two colors. Learn the basics of glassblowing\, and feel free to ask questions as your instructor assists you during the entire process! All levels welcome. \nIf you would like to share this experience with others\, please book consecutive or duplicate time slots for you to each create a piece of your own. 2 spectators are welcome free of charge. \nSpectators must stay within the designated viewing area throughout the experience. \nItems will be ready to take home 24 hours after the experience. If you are unable to pick up your item\, we can ship it for an additional charge. \n*Students must be 13 years of age or older and accompanied by Parent or Legal Guardian if under 16 years of age.*

DESCRIPTION:This is the ideal class for someone who has never painted or struggles with plein air!!! Come join in the fun! Great for beginners & intermediates! \n3pm – 5pm – in classroom @ Trackside Studio where we will get prepared. This will allow us to gatherer our materials\, prep our palettes by premixing paint\, and go over the fundamentals of plein air. \n* Then we will take our individual vehicles to Carrier Park right around the corner* \nBetween 5pm & 6pm we will snack & set up – By 6pm we will be ready to capture the “Golden Hour” on canvas. We will wrap things up by 7:30pm and get on road just before dark. \nWorkshop Description: \nA workshop focused on painting el plein air (outdoors on location) to capture natural light\, atmosphere\, and landscape subjects\, teaching fundamental techniques like color mixing\, composition\, value\, and simplifying scenes\, suitable for all levels emphasizing learning from direct observation and the environment. \nA plein air workshop (from the French en plein air\, meaning “in the open air”) is an educational art session focused on painting or drawing directly from nature outdoors.
