SUMMARY:Hot Shop: 30 Minute Make Your Own
DESCRIPTION:Receive a guided experience to create your own glass keepsakes in our glassblowing studio. In this hands-on class\, you will work one-on-one with an experienced instructor to create a unique piece of glass art.\nChoose between crafting a paperweight\, ornament\, pumpkin\, or cup\, then customize your piece with your choice of two colors. Learn the basics of glassblowing\, and feel free to ask questions as your instructor assists you during the entire process! All levels welcome. \nIf you would like to share this experience with others\, please book consecutive or duplicate time slots for you to each create a piece of your own. 2 spectators are welcome free of charge. \nSpectators must stay within the designated viewing area throughout the experience. \nItems will be ready to take home 24 hours after the experience. If you are unable to pick up your item\, we can ship it for an additional charge. \n*Students must be 13 years of age or older and accompanied by Parent or Legal Guardian if under 16 years of age.*

DESCRIPTION:Palm trees\, crashing waves\, the roar of the ocean…heaven. This class will focus on depicting moving water\, cloudy skies and sandy beaches. Maybe even a sunset. \nLearn to paint with paper. We will all work from the same image.\nGoals:\n-Learn basic analog (cut by hand) paper collage techniques.\n-Basic cutting and gluing\, building layers to create depth.\n-Complete or build the foundation for a 9 X 12 finished piece. \nI will supply:\nwood panels\, many types and colors of paper\, scissors\, gel medium\, foam brush\, gloves. \nStudent supplies:\n-Any personal items such as photo (copies) or small personal items to attach.\n– Extra colorful papers\, magazines\, etc. that have a variety of colors and textures.\n– Apron or clothes you do mind getting a little glue on.\n– A beverage and snack. \nEveryone can do this! SUMMARY:Bespoke Block-Printing on Paper & Fabric\, with local textile artist Jess Kaufman
DESCRIPTION:Join local textile artist Jess Kaufman for an afternoon of community & creativity while learning the skills needed to not just carve your own unique linoleum stamps\, but to also get beautiful prints with them over and over on any fabric\, paper or clothing item! \nDuring this beginner-friendly class\, Jess will guide you in learning how to design & carve your own unique & fun stamp designs\, as well as how to transfer them to various paper & fabric surfaces to create your own print designs\, tea towels\, & one-of-a-kind patches you can use to mend torn or old clothing- giving them new life! \nBring an image or two that inspires you! Example: a bird image or other simple-to- carve shapes like: a seed pod\, a fruit or two\, a flower or leaf\, etc. \nThe first half of class will be devoted to understanding the fundamentals of good design\, layout\, and carving out of any simple image you would like. We will then spend about an hour printing with your stamps\, each others’\, and Jess’s awesome collection of stamps. Each student will be provided with several sets of printing cards and fabric patches and tea towels to choose from. \nAll materials you need for this class are provided but please feel free to bring one (1) item of clothing to make more magic onto from your home collection. Solid\, light colors work best- and nothing too textured.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the arrival of Spring with creativity\, community & fresh flowers at your table! \nIn this class you will learn the foundational techniques in watercolor painting\, using fresh Spring blooms as your inspiration. We will have plenty of blooms available for you\, and if you have some blooms from your garden or elsewhere that you love\, feel free to bring some along! \nLocal watercolor artist Casi Fordham will guide you in learning various wet into wet watercolor techniques\, dry-brushing & using dark & light values as you build layers of color and shape to create your blooms\, adding details and embellishments afterward. \nAllowing the pigment and water to interact as they expand across the page together is a great way to trust the creative process as it unfolds. Watercolors have a way of leading and surprising you if you allow them to! \nYou will begin with a step-by-step watercolor demo where you will warm-up with Casi’s guidance\, and then transition into several rounds of layering and painting on your background papers. We’ll explore basic techniques\, break down the elements of building values\, guided by demos each step along the way. You will bring home your practice pieces as well as a larger piece you’ll work up to. \nPLEASE BRING WITH YOU: a vase for your flower (s) that you will place in front of you for visual reference. \nA light afternoon snack and a glass of wine will be served. \nAll materials provided.
