We will cover different pouring mediums\, paint mixing and consistency\, different techniques for applying and moving paint\, curing and sealing your work\, troubleshooting\, and more! \nThis class will also have many demos and\, of course\, play time for you to create your own pieces to take home. You should also pack a snack or lunch\, as we will take a lunch break about half-way through. All materials will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:An alternative to nude figure drawing\, where participants can create illustrations of models who are clothed and in costume. Foundation Studios resident artists Andrew Beck and Charles J. Paine III aim to provide a unique experience to the Asheville art community that is open to all ages and skill levels. The inaugural session will be held on Thursday\, July 11th\, and recurring classes will happen on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Each session will have different themes with models in different costumes. The sessions cost $16 per person\, and tickets can be purchased on our website in advance or at the door.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday July 13th (10am-4pm) and Sunday July 14th (12pm-4pm) – $245 – ALL materials included! \nFeeling comfortable and successful with oils ( as with any medium) is a process\, so this workshop will benefit not only the aspiring beginner painter\, but be of help to painters wanting to brush up on their skills. \nWe will begin with the basics\, and there will be step by step demonstrations along the way\, as each concept is explained. We will cover how to build layers\, and what medium to use\, and when. Colors – understanding them\, and how to work with a limited palette to create a more cohesive painting – how using colors properly help to create a sense of depth a sense of mood. Brushes – what brushes to use\, how to hold them properly and use them to create different strokes and textures. What is glazing\, how and when is that done? How about scumbling? And\, importantly\, what are you trying to convey in your painting. \nDay One will be given to experimenting with all the above and getting comfortable with the medium. Towards the end of the day\, you will begin to plan your painting\, using your own resource material. You can lay in the foundations of your painting\, giving it time to dry and be ready to begin \, and finish\, on Day Two. The best part – you will be excited about starting your next painting!

In this class\, Linda will show you how to \nMix a wide variety of beautiful greens from red\, yellow\, and blue (no green tubes of paint needed) as you paint a lovely landscape you will cherish. \nCreate valuable color references as you paint your lovely landscape so you can easily find the greens you want again and again! With practice\, you will know these mixes by heART! \nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have created a loose landscape which will reflect what you learned as well as notes and references of what you mixed! Once you create your own sets of greens with a red\, yellow and blue palette\, you will never view (or even need) greens straight out of the tube in again!

SUMMARY:Costume Figure Drawing
DESCRIPTION:An alternative to nude figure drawing\, where participants can create illustrations of models who are clothed and in costume. Foundation Studios resident artists Andrew Beck and Charles J. Paine III aim to provide a unique experience to the Asheville art community that is open to all ages and skill levels. The inaugural session will be held on Thursday\, July 11th\, and recurring classes will happen on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Each session will have different themes with models in different costumes. The sessions cost $16 per person\, and tickets can be purchased on our website in advance or at the door.
