I began painting after my husband and I felt almost magnetically drawn to Black Mountain and moved here from Florida. Oil and acrylics have been my primary mediums to date, though I intend to explore others. Soulful expression is vital to me, whatever the subject matter. Mountain views offer boundless inspiration; so do beaches, animals, celestial images, streets and doorways. I relish the challenges of depicting light and letting my art continue to evolve. I aspire to embrace the creative spirit of revolutionary Black Mountain College, whose profound influence continues to reverberate in the arts. One of the deepest rewards of being an artist is hearing that my work has touched someone. For me, that kind of connection is vital.
