For the past 25 years I have been painting professionally with a primary focus on landscapes as my subject matter. I have exhibited my work in galleries across the US and in Europe, and currently teach painting workshops in Ireland and Italy as well as classes at Western Carolina University and Warren Wilson College. My work is sometimes referred to as "transitional" in the sense that it straddles both representational imagery and abstraction and relies on bold expressive brushwork and a vibrant palette. I have a deep respect for nature and draw from the surrounding beauty of Western North Carolina for my primary inspiration, hoping that through my work viewers will be able to feel the same inspiration that I do.
