I'm an avid people watcher and observer of life and nature. My work focuses on capturing fleeting moments in time - such as people going about their daily lives, flickering sunlight and shadows, or water flowing over and around rocks. Using thick paint, rich colors, and gestural brush work, I explore movement, light, and glimpses of the beauty that surrounds us. Although my work is always triggered by direct observation, my paintings are developed from visual memories — the after-image that remains in my mind's eye. This process allows me to move freely between observation, memory, and invention, to distill my original experience, and to celebrate extraordinary moments of everyday beauty.
