At this point in time, I cannot imagine my life without oil painting. It has become part of my practice since I can recall picking up a brush. I prefer to work on location and enjoy materials that are sourced from nature: pigments and paint derived from minerals, flax (linseed) oil and linen; marble dust, turpentine, natural brushes The craft of painting, taking advantages of oil paints luminosity and rich color, is a rich heritage with a long lineage. My studio is magically cluttered, a collection of curiosities.

I graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 1984, and opened my first studio not long after. It has always included time for teaching. We have weekly ongoing painting sessions in my studio, plein-air classes, demos and workshops.
