Sandi McAslan is an Asheville-based artist who made this her permanent home in 2016. She specializes in the Retrotech genre, producing shadow box assemblages, three dimensional collages and one of a kind figurative art. Framed assemblages contain vintage items from around the world, all of which are curated by the artist herself. Many of the antique items date to the 19th century including books that contain hand-written names and notes, capturing otherwise forgotten personal moments of history. Medical supplies such as glass syringes and vacuum tubes come from Eastern Europe, specifically Bulgaria and the Ukraine. Microscope slides are sourced from Great Britain and Australia. Many miniature items come from an artist in Russia.

Please visit Sandi in her studio at Pink Dog Creative at 342 Depot Street, Studio 101, Asheville, NC.
