I transform aluminum, bronze, and copper wire and natural materials in ways that reflect the natural beauty of the trees, flowers, animals and insects native to the mountains of Western North Carolina and other places on God's earth. By twisting and bending wire, building armatures, cutting and hammering copper and aluminum sheet I can create the look of swirling bark, gnarly roots, fur, feathers and endless possibilities of 3 dimensional sculptures. I study the anatomy and dimensions of my subject to ensure I create an abstract yet recognizable resemblance to the real object.
