Handmade illustrated pottery
As a ceramic artist I am attracted to the relationship between utility and beauty in our everyday handmade pots. I grew up in Quito, Ecuador and graduated with a BFA in printmaking from UNC Asheville.
My work is wheel-thrown using white stoneware clay and fired in an electric kiln which allows me to use jewel color glazes. I incorporate my love of drawing onto ceramic surfaces including animals, plants and geometric patterns. I also decorate with a combination of slip trailing, wax resist and brushwork.
I also have developed a custom pet portrait line. I take a photo of your pet, make a drawing and transfer it to different form. You can order those on my website.
All my pots are dishwasher, microwave and food safe.
On September 27, 2024 Hurricane Helene flooded my space of 17yrs at Curve Studios. We were able to evacuate a lot of our work and equipement. Due to damage from the storm I will sadly not be rebuilding at Curve.
Happy to announce, I have joined The Village Potters Clay Center as a Resident Artist, Teacher and Mentor. We are located 5 minutes from the RAD. Visit our gallery and take classes.
