My paintings are simple. Honest. Transparent. I tap into the instinctual nature of my creative process, using the animals as a catalyst, and work to maintain an open-ended, energetic, yet purposeful aesthetic.
The themes of my paintings are created by amassing simple relationships and combining them in complex ways. My work reflects the natural word. It’s the primal quality that I love. My method of layering, mark-making, use of texture, sheen, and color, flows in a very organic way.
On the technical side, my goal is to showcase a full range of development within each painting. Each piece represents everything I adore and nothing I don’t. I unapologetically give the stark, blank panel as much respect as the fine-rendered areas.
