Dedication to this art form has been a constant for me, a method for casting a spell, and a way to express what no words could ever say.  I am an herbalist, born and raised, with plans to stay forever in the Southern Appalachian Mountains; my paintings are born from my herbal practice.  My life spirals around the dynamic botanical sanctuary I tend and live within, alongside my partner and child and all the beings seen and unseen.  Plants are often the subjects of my work, because they have been my greatest friends and healers in this life; they hold a medicine for these times, for grieving and balancing the body; they too speak with colors and textures, without words.
