Matt Tommey is a world class artist and teacher working in Asheville, North Carolina's River Arts District. His studio and gallery is usually open to the public Tuesday - Saturday 10am-4pm.

Since the mid-1990's Matt's been creating woven sculpture for his clients that reflect the rustic elegance of nature. Most of his work is done on commission for the fireplace, wall and tabletop, although there is always a full inventory of available work at Matt's River Arts District Studio. His woven art is featured in some of the most beautiful mountain homes in the country and is created from locally harvested bark, vines and branches.

Matt is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, was a finalist in Martha Stewart's American Made Competition, was voted "Best of WNC" and has been featured in numerous online and print publications including Garden & Gun, Fiber Art Now and others. In 2011, Matt was recognized by the Smithsonian American Art Museums Renwick Gallery as an American Artist Under 40.
