Portraits in Pencils & Watercolor Ink Wash

We are excited to host local artist Harper Leich for this first class of her 4-part series called “Creative Chronicle: a Mixed Media Sketchbook Series”. You may sign up for a single class, several in succession, or all 4 classes (15% discount for all 4).

The series is designed to inspire you to maintain a sketchbook practice of your own that fits your own goals and interests. The best part of a sketchbook is the feeling of play and experimentation that it can bring- there’s no place for perfection here!!

This first class – Portraits & Watercolor Wash – will introduce you to fun drawing exercises designed to help you truly see what you wish to draw, tips & pointers for drawing accurate portraits, and we will begin a pencil portrait of a creative person you admire. You’ll be guided in working experimentally with watercolor inks to add color and contrast to the background of your pencil portrait.

Class fee covers all materials needed, and includes a nice quality hardbound mixed media journal by Handbook, you will take home with you and use again & again. No experience is needed!

A light snack & sparkling water will be served mid-way through the class.
