Trees – All Mediums Welcome

In this class we will cover a variety of mediums, such as watercolor, oil and acrylic, focus on creating depth and form through the strategic use of value, color, and atmospheric perspective. You will learn to see and paint trees as masses of light and shadow rather than individual leaves, focusing on techniques like blocking in large value shapes, layering colors, and creating texture. You will learn how to mix and apply a variety of greens to create realism by the use of both cool and warm shadows.  We will go over the use of different brushstrokes to create foliage and branches, and refining shapes with details like “sky holes” for realism.
