Forest & Flora: Abstract Painting Workshop with local artist Miranda Wildman

Located at our new studio in River Arts: 122 Riverside Dr., #21 ~ Cotton Mill Lofts

In this uplifting workshop, Miranda will guide you in translating the awe, calm, and vibrancy of Western North Carolina’s natural world into abstract landscapes. No experience is needed—just a willingness to explore, play, and let the mountains move you.

You’ll first experiment on a smaller wood panel as a warm up, then move to creating on a larger 12 × 12 wood panel.

What to expect:

Inspired Landscapes: Capture not what you see, but what you feel in nature—misty ridgelines, glowing sunsets, tumbling rivers, and quiet forests.

Magical Layers: Build depth and texture with radiant acrylics and mixed media that let your imagination wander.

Creative Belonging: This workshop is for every artist, at every level, from all walks of life.

Techniques with Heart: Miranda will share her own intuitive approaches to creating luminous layers and textures that evoke memory, mood, and wonder using the prismatic color palette folks have recognized in her work.

Atmosphere of Play: A cozy, welcoming space to create freely, connect with others, and leave with a piece that’s uniquely yours.
