This three (3) day workshop will apply classical art guidelines, thoughtful design and modern art principles to create stunning, realistic and expressive mosaics.
TEXTURAL SUNSET MOSAIC WORKSHOP
In this 3-day workshop, sought-after glass mosaic instructor and artist Michelle Sider will take you step-by-step through her distinctive technique to create a stunning textural sunset mosaic. Beginning with a Powerpoint presentation, detailed instructions, and a demonstration, you will create a captivating sunset mosaic based on one of the six provided images. You will be able to reach the next level in your work as Michelle guides you through color choices, color theory, and modern andamento (patterns of laying down pieces) to add textural and design elements to your mosaic. Be prepared to come away with an exquisite and unique 10” x 10” mosaic!
Drawing upon over 40 years of experience teaching art, Michelle Sider provides a memorable learning opportunity with plenty of in-depth tips and feedback in a creative and supportive environment. This 3-day workshop will fly by as you create and become inspired by others.

MICHELLE’S BIO
A Michigan-based mixed media artist, educator, psychologist, author & illustrator, Michelle Sider’s work reflects interpretations of the world around her while she pushes the boundaries of working in glass mosaics and paintings.
A distinctive painterly style, rich colors, stunning realism, movement, and unexpected texture characterizes Sider’s expertly crafted, thought-provoking, and evocative mosaics. She strives to infuse her work with flickers of inspiration, hoping the viewer will feel these sparks.
Michelle received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan Art School and continued her art education at the Center for Creative Studies and Wayne State University. She then pursued a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit, using art therapy as a means of helping her clients. She later became a High School art teacher, author, and illustrator. Throughout this time, she continued to hone her skills by learning from top artists worldwide. In 2016 Michelle chose to pursue art full-time.
Teaching art for over 40 years, Michelle combines years of practical knowledge, classroom experience, and a love of teaching into her highly informative classes and workshops.
