Watercolor is NOT a difficult medium. You can master this very flexible medium for your own painting outcome and desire. Demonstrations will start with the essentials: learn your brush strokes, paint brands, differences in brand colors, and organizing your palette. You will learn how to choose the paper, experiment with brushes from all types of painting mediums and how to be bold in your use of non-watercolor and watercolor brushes. You will determine how each brush “talks” to the paint and paper. Find what makes watercolor such a unique and vibrant medium with bold beauty that will respond to your own story.
Through working demonstrations, you will learn how to hold your brush, how to mix your paint, how to set up your workspace and how to begin putting your image on paper. Learn to fix the “mistakes” or learn how to avoid them in the first place. This class takes you beyond the traditional “clean” watercolor. Choose a subject with dramatic value and start your painting process. The outcome of this workshop is to understand the ease of working on any image, developing your own style. You should bring any brushes, color, and a notebook that works with watercolor on the paper.
