Architectural Rendering In Pen And Ink with James Cassara

Have a favorite building you want to recreate? Have you always wanted to draw your childhood home? How about a keepsake for a friend or family member?

There is an inherent beauty in the structures that we see in everyday life, often neglecting to take full notice of those around us. In this class we will learn how to capture that beauty in pen and ink. We’ll learn techniques of perspective, shading, creating points of interest, and other skills while working with pen and ink. We’ll place these buildings in a setting that matches their majesty.

Photographic references will be provided, or participants may bring their own. We’ll choose from buildings, bridges, water towers, or combination of those and more. Some of the most interesting structures to draw are those in a state of disrepair, so the participants can go in that direction if they wish. Either way you’ll be amazed at what you might come up with!

All materials will be included for this three hour class. Bring a water bottle and snack if desired.
