Brush And Ink Drawing with James Cassara

Inspired by the Japanese art of sumi-e, this class will explore the immediacy and spontaneity of painting with ink.

With a focus on landscapes we will learn some basic techniques for controlling the brush, creating a variety of strokes and textures, and other means to create a landscape with minimal drawing and maximum vitality. We will work strictly with black ink and a basic Japanese brush pen.

All materials will be included for this three hour class!
