ColorScapes XL ~ Acrylic Painting on Large Canvas with guest artist Tania Dirks

During this weekend workshop, you’ll dive into expressive color exploration, guided by technique options that support painting to a larger scale.

If you’ve ever taken a class with Tania you know you’ll leave having laughed, and learned (and maybe a little in love with acrylic painting! Her classes are an energetic mix of laughter and color, coupled with lots of support and guidance with new painting techniques. If you don’t know her yet, you are in for a treat!

You’ll start off each morning with a color warm up exercise on small canvas boards that Tania will provide.

In this beginner level 2 workshop, you’ll begin with some mini warmups -on small canvas boards and mixing demos. You will be supported throughout the weekend in learning color mixing strategies and combos, by understanding how color theory works.

Tania will have you get familiar with how to gracefully blend colors or add in bold paint applications , mixing and matching with a palette knife technique and using color theory of complimenting colors while recognizing what colors are warm or cool and lastly how to use this color control to evoke emotion in your artwork!

There will be a break for you to take lunch each day around noon, with suggestions for nearby cafes- or BYO lunch and store in fridge.
