Happiness Grids with Inks, Collage & Watercolors with local artist Jane Kelley

This brand new class is joy in the form color! Join local artist Jane Kelley for this playful afternoon unleashing your inner artist, while learning to create grids in a journal, with inks & watercolors in small spaces. Jane has developed her own practice that is super fun and fuels her other creations!

In this class, you’ll learn to create mini compositions in a grid format and infuse them with color, collage and mark-making. Discover new color combinations or play with your favorite colors as you create these squares. Add in tiny bits of collage and layer on spontaneous marks with pens and colors. Play with a wide variety of colors and marks to express your individual creativity.

Using a limited color palette of your choice, you will create grids of 9 squares filled with watercolor, collage and pens. Your first grid includes collage, your second grid is primarily the magic of watercolors and marks and your final piece will layer circles over the squares to create new shapes. As you fill these in with watercolors and marks it can become an almost meditative practice.

This class is perfect for beginners as no drawing or watercolor experience is necessary. You only need a love of color, willingness and desire to put pen and brush to paper and be playful. When you leave this class you will understand how easy it is to be creative and playful in small bite-sized elements.

You will also create one larger grid, as you learn how to add in circular elements for your final piece!
