Mother’s Day/Loved One’s Day Collage with Li Newton

Goals:
– Make a collage for the one you love with the one you love!
– Experiment and have fun.
– Learn basic analog (cut by hand) paper collage techniques.
– Basic cutting and gluing, building layers to create depth.
– Learn to look at paper images with new eyes.

This workshop will teach you how to make a personal message for someone you
love. To look at images in a new way. You will look for symbols and words that reflect
what the recipient means to you.

Materials fee includes:
Practice boards and panels .
Gel medium/ glues.
Scissors.
Tracing paper and pencils.
Sponge brushes.
Paper towels.
Some papers.

You will bring:
Vinyl gloves if you want to keep your fingers clean.
Images, copies of photographs and quotes that mean something to you. Cut out
sayings from books or magazines. (I will supply some quotes.)
Bring extra colorful papers, magazines, etc that have a variety of colors and textures,
whatever will enhance your collage.
Don’t forget to bring lunch and beverage.

Everyone can do this! Don’t be intimidated. You do not have to “know how to draw”
to create a beautiful, meaningful collage. It’s all about learning, experimenting,
community and having fun!

Registration fee includes registration ($110) and materials ($15). A second person who registers with you attends for $87.50 including materials for a total of $212.50.
