This class is for anyone who says “I can’t draw a stick figure”… or those wanting to learn a more gentle, intuitive way of drawing.

Inspired by Nature allows you enjoy the experience of drawing in a new way — by creating a dance with your eyes, the flowing subject matter of nature, and the art materials. During the workshop you’ll explore a wide variety of materials, learn expressive drawing and painting techniques, and begin to combine fresh observations onto a mixed media surface. We will explore materials like vine charcoal, that naturally invite a fluid, gentle approach to drawing that supports your ease of movement across the page.

You’ll leave with a greater connection to your unique hand and expressive lines and a deeper engagement with drawing as an explorative and abstract practice. We’ll have some natural objects to draw, but also bring some that inspire you! Come Play!
