Join us for a nurturing Friday evening of color, community and creativity!
This 3 hour class is designed to provide you with an accessible avenue in developing confidence and trust in your creativity as you experiment and explore on the canvas.
In this beginner course, Heather will guide you in developing a simple 4-step painting practice, while exploring methods for using acrylic paint in layering techniques on canvas. You may bring a symbol that is meaningful to you or select one of 7 Celtic symbols we will have available in the studio, to use as the subject of your painting. Symbols are easy figurative shapes which will support us in cultivating our intentions, and provide us with an accessible starting point as we learn how to work with the paint on canvas.
Using pantone colors of the year for 2024, which Heather will bring ready for the class, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of layering, and the most effective techniques when layering acrylic paints with mixed media such as water soluble pencils, crayons, & gelatos.
You will leave with your own painting on canvas, and the steps to a practice you can come back to again and again!
