The Painters’ Craft – Oils

Develop confidence with oil paint’s special characteristics of luminosity, expressive potential and longevity. We will cover paint, pigments, oil mediums, traditional varnishes, and grounds. We will start by preparing traditional supports: gessoed panels, paper, and linen. We will explore underpainting, layering, glazing, color and tonal techniques with demos in the studio, and still-life setups. Materials fee to instructor.
