- This event has passed.
February 10, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Nat Dickinson’s Masks will be the highlight of the “Unmasking” Exhibit during Second Saturday at Riverside Studios. Nat creates his masks with papier-mâché and acrylic paint. They are fun, colorful and represent a variety of animal spirits.
Humanity has used masks for thousands of years, and have been used for protection, disguise, entertainment and ritual practices. Wearing a mask allow us to take on a different persona and escape the constraints of our daily reality. The unmasking is also an integral part of mask wearing. When we take the mask off, we leave an altered state of reality and reveal who we really are.
Our beautiful old building, located on the corner of West Haywood Street and Riverside Drive, dates back to the 1890’s and has its origin in the early industrial days of the River Arts District.
